2005 - Administration Building of Chania Bank

The building’s design is reminiscent of the robust old walls of Chania. The imposing facade gives a sober and steady air to the building, symbolic of what the institution represents as a company.

Furthermore in order to deliver a sense of a bank which is flexible and cooperative, attention has been paid to the relationship between glass and stone where the glass which closes inwards, makes it look as if it is static as a material while the buildings skin which is made out of stone leans outwards giving it lightness. The development of the Cooperative Bank of Chania, which has the advantage of being local, was achieved through its initial creation and consolidation in Chania, Crete and the gradual expansion of the network of branches across the island being in close proximity as possible to the markets and people to whom it is addressed to.
