The “Floating Fans Pavilion” has been inspired by The Spanish Fan, Port Vel and Barcelona’s Ramblas, in order to celebrate the culture and history of the City. Thus creating a promenade through Floating Fans, a converted sailing boat and a illusory connection between the City’s main walkthroughs, La Rambla and Rambla de Mar.
The Pavilion is lightweight and easily assembled, disassembled and transported due to its fanlike modular structure. When the Pavilion is taken down its modular fans can still be placed separately anywhere around the city of Barcelona.
Recyclable materials such as metal, plastic, wood, ropes and boat sails have been used, while in order to minimize environmental impact, wind turbines have been installed on the main columns in order for it to be self-sustained.
