Location: Melissia Attica, Greece
Preliminary design: 2018
The building of the former Papadimitriou Hospital is located in a 52 acre verdant plot. It was built in 1936 and, at that time, was the best sanatorium in Greece. Later on, it was converted into a General Clinic and in 1980 it acquired a new wing.
The proposal to the remodel and rebuild in order to serve as the Athens Health Park focuses on preserving the identity of the historic building. The new operation aims both at highlighting the features of the original design and creating a building that meets the modern requirements. The materials selected match perfectly with the aspect of the building, while, at the same time, subtle color features offer a delicate linkage with the modern world.
