In the heart of Athens at the corner of Mitropoleos Str. and Christopoulou Str., a Listed Building, work of the architect V. Tsagri, an important example of the transition period in architecture from late neoclassicism to the modern movement, hosts a modern use, a Food Store of the well-known AB Vassilopoulos Company.
Respecting the interior preserved and newly renovated elements of the building, from the elegant roofs with stained glass and decorations, the exceptional brass handrails and the black and white chessboard floors of the Ground Floor, to the prominent loft and the perimeter balcony with its carved beads; an original architectural proposal for dialogue of the contemporary requirements of the Shop and AB Corporate Identity with the old and special morphology of the space.
Externally, the History of the Building with the roof that marks the era does not allow changes and continues in this way to remain an influential building for the Study of the History of Architecture.
