Location: Simousi, Kythnos, Cyclades, Greece
Design: 2008
Each house has its own outdoor space with both a back and a front yard. The large terrace and garden are surrounded by low stone walls facing the panorama. The site's shape and orientation played a decisive role for the complexes’ location and the organization of its plans.
The floor plans are arranged in pairs, forming three building volumes. Among the building volumes, sheltered outdoor areas have been designed with pergolas.
Each house has its own independent yard accesible from the main street. The residences have been arranged adjacently according to the height difference respecting the the ground’s natural incline. This level difference is encountered in the housing facades along the streets of Kythnos.
